And that’s a wrap 2011, part 1 … hello 2012

Hello 2012. And wow, look at that, we are already more than a month in … moments are flying by and these days, it seems nearly impossible to speak with someone who doesn’t feel overwhelmed by full days and the passing of time.

Archiving 2011 images is like taking a walk down memory lane.  I seem to do my best journaling through imagery (go figure;)), rather than with words, so it is very meaningful to me to be able to look back month by month and remember the special moments I spent with clients, friends and family. I thought I would put together a quick look back … but the story took on a life of its own and so for sanity’s sake, I’ve split the year into two long posts. In doing so, I’m reminded how priceless it is to document the moments in life … and how thankful I am for those smarties who figured out how to create iphones … and androids.;)

part 1

Last year began with a crazy Virginia snowstorm (actually the day after Christmas), but we were still in the thick of it on January 1.  And it did not stop families, friends, or neighbors helping neighbors from coming together, …

Oh, how fast little ones grow!  Nearly a full year later, and you can imagine how these three sisters have grown a bit older, a little bit taller … but I’m sure mom and dad are so thankful to have this quiet moment documented and displayed lovingly in their home.

May 2011 brought with it some exciting opportunities …in Nashville.

I was invited to help photograph a beautiful outdoor wedding at Brad & Kimberly Paisley’s home with the incredible Mandy Johnson, of Mandy Johnson Photography.  Images from the wedding were featured in People Magazine and on People.com.

Bride, Ashley Williams, the sister of Kimberly Williams-Paisley and actress who portrayed “Claire” in the 2011 feature film “Something Borrowed.” married long time boyfriend Neal Dodson, whose media production company is behind Oscar nominated “Margin Call.” Actor Daniel Davis officiated the nuptials.

Summer came quickly and brought more fun and wonderful people!

Again, I headed West to Colorado to document more families … featured in this past blog post.

Summer is not over and more memories are yet to come.
